About Hills
A Home, Not Just a House
At The Hills Children’s Homes, we believe that every child deserves not just safety and support—but a true sense of belonging. While the standard definition of a children’s home may describe a facility for children whose parents can no longer care for them, we go far beyond that.
A Hills Children’s Home is exactly what the name suggests—a home. A home where our dedicated teams act as substitute parents, offering love, stability, and structure to children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties. From the moment a child walks through our door, our mission is to create a space that feels like their own—right down to asking how they’d like their bedroom decorated.
We are more than care providers. We are listeners, mentors, and guides. We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all model of care. Instead, we see each child as arriving with an empty toolbox—and it is our role to fill it with the emotional, social, and life skills they need to thrive.
Our Vision & Values
At the heart of The Hills is a vision of healing, growth, and opportunity. Our homes are warm, welcoming, and child-centered—built on the foundations of respect, empathy, and empowerment.
We are proudly rooted in Northamptonshire and committed to making a lasting impact within the community. Our staff are specially trained in trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), ensuring that every interaction fosters trust and
Our Story
Founded on a passion for therapeutic care, The Hills was born from a desire to do things differently. From one home to many, our journey has been shaped by a simple goal: to create places where children don’t just survive, but truly flourish. Over the years, we have celebrated countless milestones—seeing young people overcome adversity, return to education, reunite with family, or simply enjoy the kind of childhood every child deserves.
Our Homes
We currently operate several children’s homes across Northamptonshire, each uniquely tailored to the children we support. For example, Scafell House provides specialist care for young people with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD).
Across all homes, we maintain the highest standards of decoration and comfort—because we know that environment matters. Children are involved in personalizing their spaces, and every kitchen, living room, and bedroom is made to feel like a true sanctuary.
Safeguarding Commitment
Safeguarding is not just a policy—it is the core of everything we do. We are unwavering in our commitment to protecting children’s welfare and ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are respected, and their futures are safe. Every staff member undergoes rigorous safeguarding training, and we work collaboratively with families, local authorities, and professionals to maintain the highest standards of protection.
